A few questions about the design of hull on the "Admiral Hip

Hi all. I have some questions about the design of hull on the "Admiral Hipper"- class heavy cruisers. 1. Maybe you have information on the restructuring of bulge after the launching of the cruisers? If you look at photos of the launching (see photo of "Blucher" launch) we can see...

It's "homebrew" scheme of the armor belts "Hipper"-class cruisers.

It's explains the location of armor belt, but do not remove the question of the thickness of the belt in forward.

Re: Armor of the Admiral Hipper class cruisers

Hi all, Now to ship models....this feature IS depicted on the hull of the Tamiya 1/700 Prinz Eugen...but is missing from the Trumpeter 1/700 Hipper and the Airfix 1/600 Prinz. It's not absolutely perfect, but congratulations to Tamiya for recognizing and depicting that detail! As for me ... :D This...

Re: Armor of the Admiral Hipper class cruisers

Hello everybody, What seems to me is that your signalled initial plate ( the one you circled in red ) starts after the belt internally ( the one Thorsten correctly outlined ) is over. I mean the plate ends internally and only after this plate intended to protect the 203 mm charges room starts. Afet...
