Re: What am I looking at?

The pictures are stylized, but it seems to be representations of real ships. The first picture has on the right side what seems to be protected cruisers of the Victoria Louise class (1898-1900) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Louise_class_protected_cruiser . This class originally had three sta...

Re: Pilot Aces of World War II

Yes Karl. Maybe the US pilots confront to the same odds of German pilots could achieve similar success against his enemis. But to say that allied pilots could achieve the same scores confronted to the same odds (overwelming numbers or inferior fighter against the american or brtitish fighters) is mi...

Re: Pilot Aces of World War II

Gentlemen, A very controversial subject! I think that one of the reasons that the German pilots had such a success rate was due to the opposition they had at the time. Not that this is to disparage their skill or courage in any way, but at the beginning of the war they accounted for a great many Br...

Hello Karl

The battleship is indeed the Nagato. The japanese team for the movie build up a model of the Nagato in 1/1 scale :o  like the movie Otokotachi no Yamato

It´s interesting to see that the weight remain more or less the same. The argument to choose one over the other must be operational, don´t you think? No. You have only 3 barbetes (saving weight with one gun more) and you have more space for more powerful machinary for more speed, or you can use thi...

Hello

The bomb that sunk the Arizona was drop by a level bomber (Kate) and I read that it was a modified shell of 356 mm from the japanese battleships.

Hello I have in 1/700 the Pit Road (Trumpeter) Bismarck and Tirpitz and the Dragon Tirpitz, and both of them are very good kits that can be assembly with full hull or waterline, so in my opinion they are the best election for a full hull kit than the Monogram, Airfix and Revell (except you want a 1/...

Hm. I wonder if there's an off-chance this is the same 'dry-land' Yamato deck and superstructure set they used in the opening scene of 'Tora-Tora-Tora"?
The ship portrait in Tora Tora Tora is the battleship Nagato, not Yamato
