His son informed me that Mr. Robert "Bob" J. Winklareth has passed away May 3, 2020.
Bob is maybe best known for his "reversed photo" theory regarding the photos of the battle of the Denmark Strait.

As we see Admiral Hipper in the wake of Tirpitz (where the photo is taken from) and most likely a pocket battleship further aft it could show the german battlegroup leaving Altafjord on their sortie against convoy PQ 17.

In the bismarck-class-dk-forum a member found the turret on google earth in Auckland: 36degrees 49minutes 49.74 seconds South; 174 degrees 47 minutes 27.13 seconds East. :D


But I ask again if somebody maybe has some more photos?
