Many thanks !

Do we accept that information? I'm asking the pros here.

I've been onboard Mikasa, but not as a student. Wasted chances...

Re: WW1 battleships

Certainly, would have been polite to do so from the start.

Re: WW1 battleships

Sorry if this is redundant, but are those torpedo net booms on Mikasa?

Re: Can anyonoe ID these ships?

First one is a USN battleship, probably one of those rebuilt after Pearl Harbor, possibly USS New Mexico. The second is USS Lexington or Saratoga, battlecruisers converted to aircraft carriers via the Washington Naval Limitations Treaty. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/1b/e4/be/1be4bef25610a8b032a21f...

Re: The battle for Saipan

Pros and cons frequently debated. RN armored flight decks protected the hangar decks beneath. AND we would have had two carriers instead of three at Midway if the USN used the same system.

Re: Britain Sues for Peace 1940.

The American public thought the Japanese were direct threats to the US based on their alliance with Germany. If Hitler were neutral in the Pacific Americans may have thought Japan less of a threat.

Most of her hull would be out of the water in that painting, I think.

We have a variety of items related to torpedoes at Hyperwar. Google "Hyperwar torpedoes" for links.

Re: gun placement on battleships

Were either of the ships ever in a situation where the layout proved ... awkward? Against the Big B they could pretty much chose their orientation vis-à-vis the enemy.

Re: gun placement on battleships

Did Rodney use that system? Or did they have a "C" turret. Idle question, of course.
