Re: HMS Rodney
Beauty comes in many forms and shapes. Rodney ugly? Or perhaps innovative and ahead of its own time. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion.RF wrote:I'm not so sure, not least as the armament arrangement was not completely centre line. Ugly? Well, yes.

Re: Bismarck refuels and does repairs
Rodney and KGV had fuel supply limitations as well. Lancasters were certainly not the planes to try and 'bomb it to bits'. Re: Who really sank the Hood? Bismarck or Prinz Eugen?
Bismarck must have scored the fatal hit on Hood. She was first to make contact with the target. As mentioned earlier in the thred Prince Eugen did not claim the hit.

Re: Bismarck proper name "He" or "She"
All seaworthy vessels are referred to "she", whether the boat is provided with a female or male name. I prefer she. Makes me think of the ship as the mother who protects its crew.

Re: How did you come to be interested in Bismarck?
I think I discovered my infatuation for Bismarck after watching the movie "Sink the Bismarck". Perhaps it sounds slightly too obvious, but everyone starts somewhere.
