Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody,
I would say that the total absence of any alternative to OS1 is very discouraging and speaks for itself about the possibility of any open outcome...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, no, calling the "scientific theory" method https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_theory (based on the theory that better explains observation that can be only countered by a better theory , not by pure agnosticism), is just like stating there are not enough evidences to say that ...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hi Mr.Jurens, you wrote: " One does not need to know what's true to establish what is probably, or at least possibly, false....." I (respectfully) totally disagree. If you don't know at all how your car works, you cannot say it is not steam or nuclear or even faith propelled.... Only (at least a par...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, Bill Jurens wrote: "Wadinga, as I recall, picked the first observation set, so perhaps it would be most appropriate for you to choose the second." Did he ? He listed a long list of doubts/inconsistencies, but he never proposed any alternative set from his side. I have not yet seen h...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, Wadinga wrote: "These anomalies need to be resolved before we can accept Observation set 1." ... and what would be the alternative to 143°, 15000 meters at 06:00 from PG to PoW ? Where is the counter-proposal from Mr.Wadinga ? In the absence of a credible alternative (that can match...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, I understand, from the above post of Mr.Wadinga, that he has accepted that the PG bearing 143° at 5:59:30 - 06:00 is referred to PoW, by now. Bill Jurens wrote some time ago: "I suggest Wadinga submit a single bearing/distance set, presumably the one he considers most contentious, e...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, Wadinga wrote: "Once again there is the attempt to bully, cajole and steamroller through assertions, based on one interpretation of evidence" No, once again there is the attempt to invent things and deny evidences, in a game played too many times already by this guy. He has just "in...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, Wadinga wrote: "It originates on the PG track at about 05:59:45 and points directly at Gegner Brennt on Hood, despite terminating on the PoW track. " No, another unsupported statement. This bearing also intersect Greenland, toward North-West, but it 's not the bearing of a polar bea...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, from the above posts, I think it's clear that nobody will be willing to accept even the "starting point" proposed by Antonio, IMO because they know very well that all his reconstruction will follow logically and unavoidably from this starting point. Wadinga wrote: "Being Official do...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, I leave to the moderator the (hard) task to persuade Mr.Wadinga to follow his suggestions, expressing his objections in an ordered way, discussing a single set of bearing/distance taken from official evidences, instead of randomly collecting accounts supporting fantastic scenarios.....

Re: Raeder report to Hitler about Bismarck operation

Hi Jose, thanks for posting in English the official report (most interesting) of the operation ! I had never been able to read it entirely yet. Especially useful the description of the German formation on 24 morning ("in column"), the open fire (20800 meters) and cease fire (18000) distances, the sh...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, Wadinga had written: "...the remaining 10 degrees at average range 22,000yds would mean PG is still apparently 3,900yds ahead of Bismarck at 06:00 " then he wrote: "I didn't say at 06:00 did I?" I would say he did say at 6:00....or that he was so confused writing his post that he al...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, thanks to Byron Angel for these data. Obviously recovering speed after a significant loss is quite time-consuming, especially to get back to top speeds and w ecan keep it into account after 6:02-6:03 for PoW. However, turns executed very smoothly don't affect significantly the speed...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, life's too short for following Mr.Wadinga's " snowstorm " of unsupported and meaningless objections.... Why " something is obviously wrong " ? At 06:00 there are 7° difference between the bearings of PG (323° reciprocal of 143°) and BS (330° from PoW salvo plot) as seen from PoW ( n...

Hello everybody: Mr.Jurens wrote: "I would also suggest that we as much as possible refrain from mixing, as it were, various issues, i.e. discussing attempting to address more than one issue in a single post, and -- along similar lines -- to try to refrain from posting a snowstorm of objections to a...
