Re: Recommended book on SMS Derfflinger?

Thanks Byron for your tips. I'll check out everything I can about the Yavuz. For the refit, which is done in Argentina, I had Derfflinger modified with Atlantic bow, turrets remain but 11" guns replace her 12", New machinery, bridge modelled on Scharnhorst, casemate guns fared in, catapult between f...

Re: Recommended book on SMS Derfflinger?

Thank you everyone for the wonderful replies. I've purchased German Battlecruisers 1914-1918 and German Battlecruisers of World War One from Gary Staff. And thanks Alberto on the Scharnhorst recommend. I really want to get Derfflinger's 1938-1939 refit technically plausible. Also in my novel, her es...

Thank you Dunmunro. An interesting read. Especially the part about Mussolini depressed because his forces had not fought very well.

Cape Spada, why did the Italians retreat?

2 Italian light cruisers with Vice-Admiral Ferdinando Casardi in charge come up against 4 British destroyers and begins to chase them, not knowing they are drawing him towards reinforcements. An enemy light cruiser and another destroyer appear and open fire. It looks pretty evenly matched to me. So ...

Re: The Court Martial for the Denmark Strait

I have been watching this thread for a long time now but have never posted before on the forum. As such, I would like to thank Bill Jurens for his well though out and sincere post. For me, it is the defining post of this thread.
