Hello, let's see. Yamato's shells are almost 5 times larger than the German shells. Yamato's armor is impenetrable to 11" shells. Speed is about the same in both sides 27 vs 28 knots. But, Yamato has to face three oponents with a much higher rate of fire and mobility. If Yamato doesn't split her fir...

Hello, I think Tirpitz would do better than Scharnhorst. Scharnhorst had only 2 radars and began the battle with Duke of York with the foretop radar out of action because a lucky hit from Norfolk destroyed it earlier that day. That is why Scharhorst was firing blind and was easy prey at night agains...

What if Germany is allowed to retain her fleet after WWI?
Hello, if Germany had been allowed to retain her powerful fleet after the surrender in WWI what difference would it make in WWII? I'm thinking of upgraded Baden, Bayern, etc. The invasion of England might have been possible.

Hello, the Dunkerques were only superior to the Scharnhorst in the main armament 8 guns of 330 mm versus 9 guns of 280 mm. But German armament is better distributed in 3 triple turrets and has a higher rate of fire and better optics than the French in 2 quadruple turrets. In the field of speed and a...

Hello, I agree Kirishima only scored one hit in the South Dakota before SD run away damaged. Later Kirishima was put out of action in 7 minutes by Washington 9 shells of 406 mm and 40 shells of 127 mm. Now put Yamato with her heavy armor in place of Kirishima and she likely gets much less damage fro...

Hello, it is a shame the Yamato couldn't be sent to Guadalcanal and fight in the battles of 13-14 Nov 42. The American battleships South Dakota and Washington could be now part of the "Iron Bottom". If Yamato comsumed a lot of fuel then leave the Hiei and Kirishima at Truk and send Yamato in their p...
