Re: Bismarck firing procedures at DS

Hello everybody, 05:53 open fire time proposed by this guy will even worsen Bismarck figures vs PoW ones, as logical, mathematical and already discussed. Brooke witness, albeit interesting, cannot counter the PG film+photos evidences showing at least 9 to 11 salvos fired after 6:03 by Bismar...

Re: Prinz Eugen firing procedures at DS

http://www.kbismarck.org/forum/download/file.php?id=3187 In the above chart AA claim that PE fired 44 salvos. Yet Jasper states that the average time per salvo was 27.5 seconds. 44 x 27.5 seconds = ~20 minutes... Nowhere in Jasper's statement is there any mention of 3.2 salvos/min or ~19 se...

The original German sentence you quote translates correctly to "average salvo rate".
Thanks. That's what I suspected.

Prinz Eugen firing procedures at DS

It's time that we have a separate thread for Prinz Eugen because much of what A/A claims for Bismarck is being extrapolated from PE's war diary. What PE's war diary states: open fire 0555 ceasefire 0609 salvos fired 28 + unknown number average rnds per salvo is not stated distinction between 2, 4 an...

Re: Bismarck firing procedures at DS

Of course NO ARGUMENT countering the VERY "annoying table" that still stands as mathematics principles CANNOT BE DENIED by anybody and DEMONSTRATES that PoW effective RoF and effective number of shells per minute were in line with Bismarck ones , for the anger of all the deniers. Re: KGV + PoW

To quote myself: Quoting yourself doesn't explain the negative mass problem. Perhaps the French engineers of 1941-1943 managed to find a way to put things on Richelieu that made her lighter. Maybe inflatable balloos filled with helium gas beneath decks ? Same for British engineers of late-1943: the...

Re: KGV + PoW

These were impressive figures given an increase of almost 3000 tonnes in displacement and a hull which was found to be slightly bowed amidships - The increase of 3000 tons comes from the New York Yard refit. You forget again the values of weight added between June 1940 and July 1941, and in UK afte...

Re: KGV + PoW

The KM estimated Richelieu's standard displacement as 46750 tons (47500 tonnes) and after her USA refit Richelieu's displacement was 47721 tons (48500 tonnes). So Richelieu was 1000 tonnes above the KM estimate. The KM did not estimate Richelieu std. disp at 46750, but at 35160 tons, with intermedi...
