Re: Political correctness gone mad?

Political correctness translates as censorship, plain and simple. It goes beyond censorship. Censorship is simply airbrushing things out so that they cannot be seen or heard. Political correctness geos further - it doesn't block out an issue it doesn't like, instead it confronts and condemns it, in...

Re: A 15" gunned Scharnhorst at North Cape

If we replace all of Scharnhorst's historical 11in hits with 15in hits, then nothing changes. Additionally the proposed mods to fit 38cm guns to S&G would have increased their displacement, making them slower and probably worsening their already poor seakeeping qualities. There were heavy hits ...

Re: The Court Martial for the Denmark Strait

I do not thik we need to add anything anymore, ... all is more than clear enough now. What you state is your opinion based on a biased presumption. An academic researcher should not allow preconceived bias to colour his or your judgement. The letter cannot be located - that may be because it was de...

Flat Earth International Convention 2017

It has been reported on the BBC today that an international convention is being held in Raleigh, North Carolina by a group of Flat Earth activists. I was curious as to why beliefs in the Earth being flat should persist in today's world, and as to how a flat earth can be justified scientifically. Wel...

Re: Prince Eugane v AGS

The essential point here is that Langsdorf purposely closed the range instead of keeping it open, having initially mistaken Harwood's force as a light cruiser and two destroyers supposedly on convoy escort. Had the range been kept open Exeter could have been pummelled at sufficient range that AGS do...

Re: A 15" gunned Scharnhorst at North Cape

There is a further issue here - what if as well Bey had kept his five destroyers in close company and available to give torpedo attack support in any duel with DOY?

Gneisenau was scheduled for twin 15 inch turrets installation after the Channel Dash - until the ship was burn't out in an RAF raid.

Re: Prince Eugane v AGS

How about 2 8x8" cruisers like Norfolk and Suffolk working together, would they be enough to subdue one of them? Essentially a Battle of the River Plate scenario. Are the two county class cruisers sufficiently able to attack their target on opposite flanks to either divide German fire or to le...

Re: Political correctness gone mad?

The conclusion of the vast majority of peer-reviewed journals is that man-made CO2 is contributing to acceleration of global warming. This is incorrect. What you are stating is your incorrect opinion based on a misinterpretation of these articles, the majority of which have an open view on the subj...
