15 cm secondary artillery at DS
Dear Sirs,
when i read correct, i understood that at Denmark strait Bismarck's main artillery opened fire on Hood and the secondary (15cm) on PoW. Is this correct?
Did they launched any hit on PoW?
Kind regards,
L.

Dear Karl, maybe you are right. On the other hand we do not really know the ability of the 11'. If the penetration counts 11' are enough, as i read here, i think Tiornu wrote it. My question here is: Where the German 11 inch shells longer than usual? Could i find something about the weight of the sh...

The Twins already existed. And we do not really know, what would have happened if they would have engaged single British BB esquorts. The Twins were quick. I read the idea with Bismarck was to draw the attention of the esquort. Prinz Eugen should engage the convoy. But maybe somebody knows it better...

??
Dear Tiornu,
ok, thank you, understand.
But that means the German 15cm on Bismarck, Tirpitz, the Twins and the Pocket-battleships had been useless?
Should they had been removed like on Hood to increase the speed?
Kind regards,
L.

15 cm secondary artillery
Dear Sirs, ich have a question about the secondary artillery, please. Very often i red about the worse performance of the 15 cm artillery on German ships. How important was this artillery to defend the ships against destroyers and cruisers? Or it would have been better to remove this artillery? The ...

Dear Duncan, thanks for information. The differnt stories about the ships speed is really a mass. In films, interviews and books i had always the information, that Hood did 28 knots. The forum here is more detailed and reliable, but still there are different opinions, in a way funny, when we talk ab...

Hood
Dear Sirs,
i have got questions.
With a more thick armor Hood would reach 28 knots?
As i know Hood had no secondary artillerie. Is this one
of the facts (less weight) she could reach 28 knots?
Kind regards,
L.

Dear RF, such a party might be not bad at all. :-) But as i mentioned, the Germans learned nothing really. The public system is very old. Nothing has really changed. In each western country the press release is more free than in Germany. The French and the British news are really different from ours...

Dear Yonmin, sealion was not possible. The plan was to send 70 divisions to England. 70 divisions were at this time a main part of the Wehrmacht. Stalin could have done easely a step into Europe, what he did later. Only the speed of the US troups and the sinking motivation of the Germans at the west...
