The aft magazines were emptied, not forward as part of the salvage operation. The forward magazines detonated and broke the hull in half with the main deck collapsing. Turret 1 was left as it was, the guns of Turret 2 removed & Turrets 3 & 4 with machinery removed completely. Estimates of at least 5...

If the same conditions existed other than Bismarck, I believe the outcome would have been the same! Would have been even a bigger coup when all four ships made it back!

If attacking the GF at the time of the battle it might have made the RN cautious. Would have been better to turn wolf packs on convoys - IMO

Time to stop using the military as a laboratory for social experiments including this green crap. I don't care if it was done in the past for other issues. Time to train sailors to stand watches so the ship doesn't collide with other vessels & to have the ability to trouble shoot and fix the equipme...
