hi Karl,I'm not going to disagree on most of your list, only I would put the Scharnhorst in frount of hood in the most beautiful list,Hood was a good looking lady.but i like the look of the Scharnhorst (with the clipper bow).

Now its time to RUN , DOWN , CRAWL , OBSERVE , AIM , RETURN FIRE.

Hi everyone,Bgile your list of successful US ships is a good one, but i think you missed one.the USS Yorktown,,,,,she fought bravely at the battle of the coral sea(suffering 5 x 500lbs bombs down her flightdeck),her crew managed to not only save her,but got her back to pearl harbour and then...

Hi RF.What i was trying to say was that after Jutland.the germans were unwilling to try the British navys control of the atlantic, they(germans) never again tried fleet or large squadron, operations against the Royal navy.

hi RF .the term pocket battleship was a british term.not a german one I belive the german name for this class of ship was Armoured cruisers, and I think BUT i'm not sure, that the 8000 hp engines in the Graf Spree was the most powerful desiels the germans built.

I would think that the Prinz Eugen would be near impossible(hi Karl  )to raise in one piece.well the cost would be HUGE. LET HER REST ! she earned it on to the subject of the german uboat force, they were both very good and very brave. BUT (again) on both attempts to close the convoy routes acro...

G'day everyone I voted Jutland.but i must admit it was a strange battle result from my point of view the germans won a tactical victory,(less ships at the start of the battle and less losses of both ships and men) but the brits won a stratigic victory.(the high seas fleet never tried to engage the b...

G'day lwd.you are probably right.but if the Germans use both BBs on the hood,I just cant see the hood surviving at all. it is more likely that the british cruisers would attack from the north, and would probably take out the PE first then engage the Bismarck and Tiriptz to draw them off the PoW and g...

hi yes I did quote the worse case(pq118).but that was done by uboats and aircraft.NOW add the twins and light cruisers then things get out of hand in a hurry.with the Royal navy trying to engage Bismarck+tirpitz+2 heavy cruisers in the atlantic.they just didnt have enough heavy inits to cover the ru...
