Possible British 16inch guns on Battleships

I have been reading on super battleships and found this. The Lion class are the most restrained of the super battleships that never were. In fact, they would have been smaller than the later Vanguard, which was completed. (See my essay about the "Post Treaty Battleships" for a discussion of Vanguard...

Re: Germany's Weapons in WWII

The best weapons system the Germans built in my humble opinion was the ME262 and the R4M rockets built to late to truly effect the war but if Hitler and Goering did not dawdle then we could have seen it in service by 42-43 at the latest. It would have forced the allies to come up with some way to co...

Plan Z

If plan Z was followed would we have seen a decisive battle in the atlantic like the one in the coral sea?

Would we see Bismarck and Tirpitz along with Prince eugan and the twins with carrier support and escorts verses the four Illustrious class carriers all five KGV and hood along with escorts.

Re: Royal Navy capable of another Falklands?

It would not be in the south atlantic but on the edge of the south atlantic and it would be a reminder to all nations that britain is still a nuclear power.

Re: Royal Navy capable of another Falklands?

Question is what sized fleet is needed to be deployed to the Falklands? I would say this would be a good task force; Carrier task Force; - Forward fleet 1 x Invincible carrier 2 x tanker/supply 2 x t-42 Destroyer 2 x t 23 Frigate 1 x t-22 Frigate 1 x Trafalgar SSN Amphibious Task Force; - rear flee...

Re: The end of HMS Vanguard

She would of been very useful in 82 and gulf war with modern weapons those 15 inch guns would strike the fear of god into anyone. Most modern weapons would not do anything to her, pure power.

Re: Best choice for 45000 tons battleship

Vanguard is very close to the weight limit. At 45200 tons standard. The turrets would have to be changed for me from the four twin turrets to four triple turrets with 15 inch guns.

Re: German Jews steal bismark

They would be wearing German military uniforms and the speak fluent German. SIG worked under the British during WW2 to great effect. Failing to steal her could they sink her or damage her so badly that she would not be able to put to sea.

Re: Could the RN have built Two lion class before the end of

Some designs the admiralty had were sound designs but the scraped them before being built or getting of the blue-prints. The malta class cv fleet carriers would be some of the biggest we would of built and been big enough for jet ops.The lions would be a very stable gun platform and fast enough to b...
