Re: Fuso V Queen Elizabeth

I have the book as well but not with me atm. There still is afaik no indication that this arrangement gave better firing solutions than others.

Re: Fuso V Queen Elizabeth

Afaik the 4 twin arrangement was only a German favourite according to G&D not a general one. It gave balanced firepower fore and aft but did not improve firing solutions.

Re: Preston: Worst warships of all time

Maybe you should reread G&D US Battleships Page 96, Karl, but since I have mentioned that twice before, I don't think you'll ever do that, maybe they are not considered experts in this special case...

Re: Which is your political phylosophy???

1. American ''Liberal'' 2. Liberal Socialist 3. Social Democratic 4. Social-Liberal 5. Anarcho-Communist American Liberal is Nr. 1? :D I guessed Social Democratic would be more correct. So for American Conservatives, which differ greatly from what we call conservative here in Germany I should be an ...

Re: Iowa Class: Armor Protection

I would like to know where I ( or others) have ever disputed thath BS upper deck would initiate the fuzes of bombs and shells. G&D clearly consider the "heavily compromised" SoDak as the best treaty ship but you always choose to ignore things you don't like, Karl. There is your non internet referenc...

Re: KGV article on wikipedia

José: I Starting for the overall displacement and beam there are catches. Sorry, I don't understand what you are hinting at. Btw, imo R&R are good as far as British ships are conerned, but their opinions for foreign designs seem highly biased (e. g. british 15inch gun was the best battleship gun of...

Re: KGV article on wikipedia

Richelieu was designed for 300kg, Yamato for 400kg TNT.

Richelieu's TDS should be better than KGV's with her many layers and much larger depth.

What is that, some kind of joke?
Afair that was the designed resistance. These figures were sometimes (much) higher than the actual ones.

Re: Bismarck and her contemporaries

No details are given how this was derived, but the angle ist shown for the upper deck not the armour deck. Another hit on one of the auxiliary 9cm guns is given at an angle of 35°. Maybe JB was listing if these angles are correct. She got some flooding after 2 bomb hits on 0718. Massachusetts hit he...

As I said, I looked the angle of fall for JB's magazine hit up. It is given at 33° as I posted earlier.

BS won't hit much when she fires 3 RPGPM at her loading angle of 2.5°.

Re: Bismarck and her contemporaries

What I posted is from the New Book about Richelieu by Dumas and Johnson. The 33° angle is from memory, I look it up on sunday if no one does it sooner. I think i remember it correctly, because I checked the range on navweaps for such an angle of for the Mk VI when I read this and it was something ab...
