Re: Lutjens' target directive to Prinz Eugen

It looks like to me that PE switching fire to PoW was the right move even if orders were not interpreted correctly nor SOP was not followed taking position on BS lee. If Lutjen's did or didn't order it maybe it just made sense the way it played out given the positions as the battle opened as strange...

Re: New Bismarck movie!!? But.....

I'd like it if they were to pull a kind of Letters from Iwo Jima/ Flags of our fathers thing with it. Although who knows what will happen. I don't see how they could make it a truly interesting film without doing a "both sides" kind of thing ..... A bout of flu this week afforded me the time, after...

Re: New Bismarck movie!!? But.....

Personally, i think it will be hollywood BS. They will load it up with CGI and do everything they can to make it relevant to today and the evil nazi's. Hope I'm wrong but I seriously doubt it. My 2 pfennigs!

Re: TERRORIST SHOOTING IN PARIS TODAY

The west, France, GB, Germany, US, etc. had better wake up! This is a religion who's followers reject assimilation into the culture of host countries. If westerner's don't want to live under sharia then they better act soon. These people are playing for keeps and so should we!

Re: TERRORIST SHOOTING IN PARIS TODAY

IMHO-countries should not cede control of areas to immigrants such as the 'no-go' zones in France. The intelligence resources of host countries should redoubled in investigating the mosques and madrases for any kind of terrorist sentiment and all leads should be pursued. Profiling-the dirty word-wor...

Re: TERRORIST SHOOTING IN PARIS TODAY

The so called "free press" has no problems publishing items that are offensive to Christians and other religions. Could it be that they are less likely to be attacked by their followers on a regular basis? Could it possibly be the followers of a particular religion are intolerant of anyone who does ...

Re: America wins one despite it all

..... It is all about consolidating absolute control over society. Programs such as "green energy" inevitably substitute regulatory fiat in place of the law of supply and demand. By doing so, government is able to subvert the market process by arbitrarily creating artificial values upon whatever go...

Re: America wins one despite it all

Conservatives have been pushing for more drilling for at least 20 years. The proof is in the prices. The whole left-green-liberal cabal wants high prices to hurt consumers and to justify green subsidies. When the supply is up and the price is down their whole argument crumbles. What is truly a shame...

Re: Best war movie ever?

"Band of Brothers" I thought this one was great too. I just was not sure if I should include it as it was more of a mini series than a movie. But it felt to me like "Saving Private Ryan" but a series, and I mean that as a compliment. Das Boot was a mini-series in Germany before it was released as a...

A Sherman is still a Sherman. If a Tiger had the drop on it any great distance then it would have brewed up as they were prone to if hit - JMHO

The Treaty Navy

The Treaty Navy By James W. Hammond Jr. From my review of this book on Amazon: I just finished this book and I have learned so much about how the US Navy was positioned at the beginning of WWII, This book is a concise history of the development of US Navy into a world class player due to influence o...
