AJ Press - Kriegsmarine Topics
Does anyone have a listing of all the AJ Press books that have been done on Kriegsmarine surface ships? My reason for asking ----- I just purchased a used 1997 book AJ Press did on Panzerschiff Deutschland/Lützow, this being Monografie Morskie 7, Pancerniki Kieszonkowe cz 1., by authors Waldemar Dan...

Alf Jacobsen's book Scharnhorst is well worth reading. It not only provides more good background on this favorite KM ship, but in particular gives the reader a fascinating description of the life and intrigue on and around the ship as she sat in the fjords, from both the German and Norwegian perspec...

Re: Number of ships sunk by Deutschland/Lützow
Of course, with the exception of the Graf Spee, the other heavy units of the Kriegsmarine did no better (like the ones on WWI - laying in harbour, one battle, laying in harbour - no strategic victory) Panzerschiff Admiral Scheer did quite well on her commerce raiding cruises - I'd have to look up t...

True. Don´t know in the first times, but from 1935 onwards all the fighters of the Navy were specially designed for them. Moreover, companies like Grumman, MacDonnell and Chance-Vought never designed an aircraft for the Army Air Corps or the USAF. McDonnell Aircraft here in St Louis did indeed desi...

KzS/FdZ Bonte
I read in the Norway WW2 forum that a member asked if the body of KzS & FdZ F. Bonte was ever recovered, and if so, does he have a memorial grave. He was lost 10 April, 1940 at Narvik during the night, on, I believe, Z-21 Wilhelm Heidkamp.
Does anybody know?

Gary - This book on the Hippers is typical of all the books in this series - Bismarck class, Scharnhorst class, Deutschland class, German Light cruisers, German Destroyers as well as this book on the Hipper class heavy cruisers. These are translations of the same series of books originally published...

Book alert! :!: For anyone interested in this early book on Scharnhorst (see the many postings above), there is what looks to be a decent copy, VG condition w/dust jacket, listed on eBay by someone in Florida - $21.95 plus s/h. This is FYI - I have no interest in it nor anything to gain from its sal...
