Hi Antonio (nice post ) and everyone,
Mmmm. Still hard to believe that a weapon platform like the Bismarck could be so lethal against Hood and PoW and just a few days later a totally ineffective combatant.
Regards Steve

Foeth, Very impressive work   . Do you have something in the water in your homeland that makes super-modelers ? How am I going to ever do that on boats that small in 1/350. I am thinking about a 1/72 Bismarck (250.5m = 3.47m) so I can use big size commercial kit bits but you...

Big scale Bismarck
Who has the best 1/150 (or bigger) plans that I could use to build a big scale Bismarck? I’m thinking about a joint project with a good friend and we could do it over the next few years. If I did it I wish to get a starter pack together to help us with everything to do with the ship (any radio contr...

Was Bismarck a mis-hitter?
Did Bismarck hit anything on the day it sank? I’ve never heard of any hits on KG5 or Nelson. I understand that the two forward turrets were taken out quickly and then Bismarck lost central command & control via hit to areas of the bridge but nothing is said about impacts to the Nelson, Bismarck’...

Nice work, this is exactly the reason I started scratchbuilding my own parts. I’m so tempted to really get into building a very accurate ship but I know how much time I have left with it as it is. It’s almost a “square rule” time vortex with each newly detail part sucking up as much time as an OOTB...

Re-decked a 1/350th Bismarck
Ok I have decided to “bite the bullet” and replace the deck on the Tamiya Bismarck. My main reason for doing this is that I lack the talent to remove the joints/seams and those irritating round circles used for air-recognition on both ends of the deck. Tamiya did the deck planking with a raised line...

Hi Matthias, I’m doing this Bismarck on the internet for two reasons. 1 is if I can give someone an idea on what to do with their ship and that it’s not too hard then good, I am most happy to help. 2 is if I don’t know about something or if I am going wrong some kind person (like Antonio :D) will he...

Hi Matthias (and all), About cutting up the ship/kit to fit replacement p-e parts you are correct. In almost all cases it improves the appearance of the substituted parts either by scale thickness (canvas “spray screens” tied to the railings around the superstructure on the Bismarck are represented ...

Edit, edit, edit!! I knew it! Can't do direct links to modelwarships.com. Ok go down about halfway on Mike’s build and you can see both the fore and aft hangers, look at the big one and you can see how he’s tried to get the cut-out right. My observation is Mike’s cut a bit too much off but still he ...

Thank you Antonio, I’ve not stop but I don’t want to bore you all with every little bit I do, that’s why I’ve been quiet lately :D. Update………. I’ve slowed down a bit as I navigate my way around cutting the big aircraft hanger up. I don’t want to get it wrong and I only have a few bits/images to use ...

That is very interesting thanks for posting. I’ve got a question about it for you……. …..when you say that Tirpitz used it for evading torpedoes this, to my mind, infers that it’s a passive/defensive system. Did the Germans never use it for offensive purposes? It sounds as if it could have been handy...
