Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, here you have the same map divided in 2 pieces, so everybody with a ruler in millimeters can check the distances on the tracks very easily. Starting_milestones_1cm_1000_meters_Prinz_Eugen.jpg Starting_milestones_1cm_1000_meters_PoW.jpg Bye Antonio

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Bill Jurens, of course your daughter birthday is your primary duty today, ... and by the way tell her happy birthday from Italy, ... :D I thick we can go a bit back and start really from scratch. What about this one : Starting_milestones_01.jpg Point 1 is the PoW at 05:37. Point 2...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Herr Nillson, I see, and I think it can be easily resolved, ... and goes just in the direction of the teamwork improvement we can all make here in. You can use my higher format map availale in colors on the hmshood website, here in : http://www.hmshood.com/history/denmarkstrait/bo...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Herr Nillson, your understanding is absolutely correct, because I cannot pretend to have my 2005 work being already 100 % perfect. That was done just to eliminate the " reversed photo theory " of Mr. R. Winklareth and the goal has been accomplished. As I wrote above anyt...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Herr Nillson, I am sorry that you are reading negatively my last post, ... because that was not its intent, ... just the opposite. But, I like to make clear to everybody, that I will defend my published work and 15 years of personal study about this battle re-construction against ...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Bill Jurens, the distance between Prinz Eugen and the PoW on the Gefecthskizze at 06:00 is around 20.000 meters ( so I assume Brinkmann wanted to reproduce the 19.700 meters he declared ) and it is of course totally wrong by more than 4.000 meters at least, ... but we know this ve...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Bill Jurens, I see your points, so let me recap a bit for everybody benefit. Yes, I think that my Observation Set No 1 is almost correct and just needs some small adjustments to realize a reliable enough battlefield area we can start using as reference base. The 19.700 meters on t...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Wadinga, the parameters we have agreed to merge the 2 PG and PoW tracks from their own maps realizing the battlefield are of course with the obvious tolerances anybody can easily understand and accept o this moment. This does not mean that at the end of the whole analysis we will ...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Bill Jurens, let me recap what has been agreed after some exchange of opinions on the 2 parameters we are using to merge the Prinz Eugen original map own track to the PoW one, while disregarding completely the view of the enemy tracks on both maps. First the 143°True bearing that ...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Bill Jurens, you wrote : I think Antonio and Wadinga, at least, have agreed upon a specific example upon which we can work, which we might call Observation Set No. 1. One hopes that input from them, and various other contributors, will enable us to assign some sort of 'research va...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Wadinga, I do not like to loose time being joked around in this way, ... not anymore. The PG maps are clear and the bearing 143°T is traced toward the PoW, if you are not able to understand and realize it, ... is only your problem. We have agreed about the utilization of the 143°T...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Wadinga, we have agreed back on this thread about a bearing and a distance between the Prinz Eugen and the PoW in order to be able to merge together 2 available set of maps ( PG and PoW ) and define the battlefield. The agreement was reached on the 143° bearing ( 2 times measurabl...

Re: Bismarck at DS after the second turn

Hello everybody, @ Wadinga, Bill Jurens, the board moderator, wrote : I suggest Wadinga submit a single bearing/distance set, presumably the one he considers most contentious, explain his objection to it, and others -- if necessary -- can discuss to determine whether it is actually realistic or not....

Re: Raeder report to Hitler about Bismarck operation

Hello everybody, @ Wadinga, I am glad we made you so happy, ... and fast on responding, ... so it will be fairly easy now to answer also on the other thread about the bearings just as Bill Jurens asked you, ... with the same speed and happiness. Given the above document you can add now also the 20.8...
