One additional question -- do you have any opinion on the Kdos documents estimation of various British and French armour penetration characteristics? Same question for exterior ballistics; were the Germans estimation of velocity drop and time of flight for French and British projectiles good or not ...

one more observation unrelated to the original thread subject. sorry -- not trying to hijack the thread. however the reduced charge range tables cover ranges 1000-yrds to 4000-yrds then they stop. they pick up again at range = 23,500-yrds and stop again at range=25,100-yrds. same again for both the ...

There are two sets of tables for 16-inch -- one for Mv=2600-fps and one for reduced-charge Mv=2000-fps. Max Ordinate for Mv=2600-fps for a range set of 24000-yrd is 6,320-feet. Same again for 14-inch range tables. There are two sets of range tables -- one for 2000-fps (reduced charge) and one for mv...

Your right. Unfortuntely my version appears to be incomplete. I looked over the contents again and the last penetration figure is for 20,3cm Spgr L4.7m Bdz.zu 122kg. I think the cover sheet to these figures says Heavy Cruiser Hipper -- but its gothic lettering and in German (two strikes against my r...

Questions About 38,1-cm Psgr.zu
I am a bit confused about something. A number of sources (including this web site) indicate the 38cm Psgr (APCBC) projectile had a weight of 800-kg and muzzle velocity of 820-m/s. However in reviewing a wartime German document entitled: " Awa A IA 100/40 g.Kdos Unterlagen mad Richtlinien zur Be...

Thanks Nathan. Interesting observation regarding scale effects. I had not really considered this aspect of the equation. I will have a look through your FACEHARD data files for slope effects. Will slope effects differ dependent upon whether the target is Face Hardened Armor or RHA? Do you know off h...

Sense of Krupp Armor Penetration Equation
Making Sense of the Krupp All-Purpose Armor Penetration Equation I am interested in comparing the Milne version of the DeMarre Armor Penetration equation with results from the Krupp All-Purpose Armor Penetration Equation. While I am reasonably well versed in extracting penetration data from the Mil...
