Graf Spee, Scheer, and Lützow vs Yamato

The three German pocket battleships versus the Japanese Yamato. Any chance for the Germans? This is a three against one but the number of German guns (18 x 11") is the same as if it were Scharnhorst & Gneisenau versus Yamato. Do you guys see any similarities with the battle of the River Pla...

I think it is good to remember these events.

May all Tirpitz sailors rest in peace.

A short prayer for them.

Don't feel bad for me, I have one of those beer steins too. It has the Tirpitz coat of arms on one side and two German sailors hoisting signal flags on the opposite side. Definitely worth the money.

I don't know really, but since Yamato fuel consumption was huge the Japanese probably thought it was more economical to refuel a few smaller warships than sending Yamato. BTW, how far was Truk from Guadalcanal theater of operations?

Who really sank the Hood? Bismarck or Prinz Eugen?

Hello,

Who really sank the Hood? Bismarck or Prinz Eugen? Some accounts give credit to the Prinz Eugen for delivering the fatal hit which sank the Hood. Could this be possible?

Scharnhorst and Gneisenau vs Yamato

The weakest battleships of World War II against the most powerful of them all. This is a two against one but considering Yamato's armor and guns... Scharnhorst & Gneisenau Displacement 38,400 tons Main guns 9 x 11" Secondary guns 12 x 5.9" Armor 13.7" belt, 13.4" turrets, 13....

I think Ballard found one and later Cameron found another. The other two turrets haven't been found.

Bismarck construction flaws

This subject is often discussed in military and naval circles.
Can somebody enumerate Bismarck construction flaws and their possible impact on the ship's final demise?
