Re: The RN vs yamato

[/quote] Torpedoes sink ships. They do not cause them to surrender, and in any case the Japanese would never allow one of their ships to be captured. Neither would anyone else, for that matter. If it was at all a possibility the ship would be scuttled or sunk by friendly destroyers with torpedoes. I...

Re: Arleigh Burke Destroyer in WWII Pacific Theater

tomahawks would be useless. They need a satellite to work properly . other than that it is possible it could do some damage. A 1000 lbder would sink it like any other ship.

Re: KGV class revisited

They were meant to have 16 inch guns in triple turrets but the japanese ruined that idea by walking out. We would of used the escalator clause but it would cause a delay to the building to each battleship.

Re: Scenario with Bismarck and Tirpitz

Best bet would be if lutjens had his own way and delayed exercise rhine/ berlin till 41/42 so he could have either tirpitz and/or sharnhorst were avalible.

Re: The RN vs yamato

They should be pretty good since they would have been practising since mid 44 . Would we just pound it to hell then use the battleships for the killing blow or take her a prize.

Re: Soviet Union carriers

If you change the soviet command structure then it might be possible. If bismarck or tirpitz head towards the baltic or the artic then it could be possible for the soviet navy to push for CVs to protect the motherland from the nazis then the americans after the war.

Re: Germans in WWII having Iowa class battleships

Firstly how would a conservative Gross Admiral like Raeder have used them? Four would still be numerically inferior, at least on paper, to the RN. And by their mere possession there would already be a sharp British construction response. Our response would be either two lions or giving the KGV,s 15...
