Finally I received my copy yesterday. I am a little dissapointed. In first place it is announced in Amazon as a 256 pages book (like Dreadnought), but it has only 160. In my opinion are missing: -boiler schemes. -machinery schemes. -frame construction and skin schemes. -steering machinery arrangemen...

I think that if the battlecruiser manages to keep distance using its superior speed, it would be very difficult for the germans to sink it. On the other hand if Graf Spee divides his ships so the Australia has to concentrate on targets from different bearings, he has a slight chance of closing dista...

German fire control

Does the fire control radar provides enemy bearing, course, speed and distance?
The guns are aimed from the control station or have director aiming in the top?

German fire control equipment

Does anybody know how the German fire control worked, I mean is there a detailed explanation as that found in http://www.dreadnoughtproject.org for the British WWI fire control system?

I think Jutland is the greatest CONVENTIONAL (ie: no aircraft carriers) naval battle of all times. This puts Midway and Leyte Gulf out of the discussion. Think of it: almost 60 battleships and battlecruisers fighting in the North Sea, two British battlecruisers lost with 3000 lives in a matter of mi...
