Hello everyone,
These photos of the Battleship Bismarck Memorial in Friedrichsruh, Germany, were taken for us by Timothy P. Mulligan on May 20, 2005. The Memorial site is located just behind the mausoleum that holds the sarcophagi of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck and his wife Johanna von Puttkammer.
Mr. Mulligan is the author of: "Lone Wolf: The Life and Death of U-Boat Ace Werner Henke" (Westport, CT: Greenwood Press, 1993) and "Neither Sharks Nor Wolves: The Men of Nazi Germany's U-Boat Arm 1939-1945" (Annapolis, MD: Naval Institute Press, 1999). He has recently written an article about the "Bismarck" that will appear in the October 2005 issue of the Journal of Military History.
Enjoy!
