This web page and Jose's Bismarck e-book both note Bismarck's screws rotated counterclockwise for both the port and center shafts, and clockwise for the starboard shaft. I assume these indications of counterclockwise and clockwise are as viewed from the ship's stern facing the bow?
Was Tirpitz the same?
Thanks.

Re: Prop rotation
That's right. The port and middle propellers rotated counter clockwise and the starboard propeller clockwise as viewed from the ship's stern facing the bow.

Jose - Thanks. There seems to be some confusion about the center shaft. The photos confirm you are clearly correct - looks like if the KzS wants his ship to move forward smartly, the center prop needs to be turning counterclockwise!
Is it correct to assume the prop rotation was the same in the other KM big ships that carried three drive shafts - SH & GU and the Hippers?
Thanks.
