Gene Slower has passed away

Post by GHE »

If you are into archival information on the USN, this guy was THE man in a lot of ways. I shall miss Gene greatly, but I am heartened by the knowledge that the entire community will benefit from the information he left behind.

What a shame to have lost Gene. He was a treasure to researchers and naval enthusiasts alike.

Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
They stood and Earth's foundations stay;
What God abandoned these defended;
And saved the sum of things for pay.

I never had the chance to get to know him, but visited his website several times. Lot of material there.
May he rest in peace.
