Hi Gentleman's,
Does anybody have the exact chain link dimension for the bow anchor and since the stern anchor was smaller was there a smaller chain size for the stern?
I saw a picture of the Tirpitz chain link in a museum and there is a pen under it to give an idea of the scale but i have no idea how long is that pen.
I am asking since again in the anatomy of the ship book when i convert the 1/100 scale it simply make no sense and honestly so far this book have so many drawing wrong that i wonder what to think about the rest, even the capstan drawing are very wrong so i had to correct them with the aid of original pictures.
Thank for any help
Regards Hans

Hi gentleman's,
After a little detective work i got the correct size and i put a picture with dimensions and diameter for those who want to make their model accurate :

PS I have tied all the link that photobucket provide and i cannot get the picture to show in forum, i also tried these links in between the IMG bracket and nothing work.

Where did you get that from? It appears wrong to me.

The 72 mm diameter came from here: http://www.kbismarck.com/oequipment.htmlHerr Nilsson wrote:Where did you get that from? It appears wrong to me.
And to make sure i was correct i just scan a picture for top view of the deck from the wreck and match it with my Bismarck deck and capstan.
If there is any difference then we are talking about not much more than 5 to 10mm.
