I would tend to stay with the primary source (written on May 29 and submitted by the Commanding Officer of the HMS Rodney, Capt. Dalrymple-Hamilton) because the third near miss (9:23) is also associated to a precise damage to a tube (that was in action only at that time as at 8:53 Rodney was too far from BS to use the torpedoes anyway: the first ones were fired after 9:02 and no damage was recognized at that time).
