Postby Mostlyharmless » Thu Dec 15, 2016 11:38 pm

John Moffat, who may have been the last survivor of the Swordfish crews who attacked Bismarck and who was often credited with dropping the decisive torpedo, has died. See ... vy_officer) or ... s-aged-97/ for more details.

It really saddens me to learn this. Mr. Moffat was so pleasant and humble in all his interviews and I certainly enjoyed reading his book "I Sank the Bismarck".

He survived Bismarck's AA fire to live a long, fulfilling life. May his soul be blessed to rest in eternal peace.
