To Commander in Chief of the Navy [Grossadmiral Erich Raeder]:

"Recommend bestowal of the Knight's Cross on Korvettenkapitän Schneider for sinking Hood."

Chief of Fleet [Admiral Günther Lütjens]

"The Führer has bestowed Knight's Cross on you for sinking battle cruiser Hood. Hearty congratulations."
