Thank you, Bgile. That was the basis for my statement, which was meant complimentary.

Then there is no need for you to inflame the situation by making untrue and provocative comments.

In a truly democratic forum discussing politics it is necessary to accept all views as a basis of rational discussion. Like Karl, I am not a socialist or communist. but that doesn't prevent me from understanding what those ideologies are or where their proponenants are coming from.

What is that line of satiric poetry Ernest Hemingway has the Gypsy say , in "For whom the Bell Tolls" ?

Ah yes , " Thank God I am a Gypsy , and not a Catalan ! "

Prince Philip , Duke of Edinburgh , and famously Indiscreet husband of our dear Queen , is supposed to have once said , while addressing a group of Japanese businessmen on a visit here , that He " hoped that this was going to build bridges between our two peoples " , and then turning aside , muttered " but not like you did last time , you bayonet-happy little b******ds ! "   !

Whats the weather doing in Barcelona , minoru ? its cold and chilly up here .
Oh to stroll down the Ramblas , a bottle of joven tinto , and shrimps with sea salt and lemon juice , frittata , and chorizo tapas to help it down .
" Relax ! No-one else is going to be fool enough to be sailing about in this fog ."

Note Kyler that here we have gone from the Moon to Barcelona. Well at least Barcelona is a bit more hospitable than the lunar wilderness.......

Coming back to the original thread, there are now theories developing, reported in Universe Today, that access to the alleged water ice in the polar areas of the Moon may be made extremely difficult not just from their location well away from potential landing and settlement areas, but due to electronic charging of the crater rims. Effectively the solar wind, striking the crater rims almost horizontally (as unlike Earth there is virtually no axial tilt in the Moon's rotation) charges them with static, so the water ice is confined within a natural electric fence!

Now I'm not a scientist or engineer - but could this charging facilitate substantial electricity generation on the lunar surface, from which the water could be accessed?

Neil Armstrong was in the Senate and made it clear that Obama commited a big mistake cancelling the moon program.

Obama, like all presidents, has only a transitary term of office and I think that either he or his successors will eventually find the public funding for renewing substantive human space exploration, including a return to the Moon.
