I believe the whole Olympics is OTT, absolutely commercialised with complete rip off of athletes and fans.

The ''Olympic Torch'' will be coming to Wolverhampton, on its way to Dudley, traversing past the bottom of my street. And no, I shall not be seeing it, in my view it is a parody of the original real journey in Greece.

I have to say that after seeing a British policeman dressed up like someone from the SAS I do wonder what is happening in our Police force. This particular photo had this chap in a black balaclava, two Glock pistols, tear gas grenades and pouches for the magazines for his Heckler & Koch machine gun. I know security is very important, but I never thought to see a British Bobby armed like that and cannot help but wonder if we would not be better employing the proper Special Forces chaps to do the job for which they have endless training to do.

The special forces just aren't big enough for such a task, especially with the armed forces budget being cut back. So its put on to the armed police.

We apparently need missile batteries to defend the skies of London in case terrorists or other enemies try to launch an airborne assault on Lord Coes' folly.

And it is the British taxpayer who is funding all this. Value for money?

Now that the Games are over and the hyperbole has now started to die down....... those missiles weren't needed after all.
