Songs about specific war vessels

Post by CuttleFish »

Had to laugh listening to these, but then got to thinking, how many more warships have been immortalized in songs?

PT 109 (and the mentioned but unnamed Amagiri) ..and Bismarck, and incidentally Hood... Cheers...

Also by Johnny Horton--Sinking of the Reuben James.

Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
They stood and Earth's foundations stay;
What God abandoned these defended;
And saved the sum of things for pay.

There's Beatnik Turtle's Hood tribute, "Battle of Denmark Strait" from a couple years ago :
Qui invidet minor est - He who envies is the lesser man
