Tennessee V Fuso

Post by Gary »

Rebuilt Tennessee of course.

How does the toughest looking BB compare to one of the ugliest looking?

Why "one of the ugliest looking"? Because of the 6 turrets? Agincourt was stranger with 7.

Fuso was not a well armored ship. A modernized Tennessee has all the important advantages.

She's worse than her sistership. For some reason, the Japanese gave Fuso and Yamashiro different superstructures during their modernization. Fuso had to switch to stowing her No 3 turret trained forward. I think that's what accentuates her Marge Simpson pagoda.

I think Tennessee after modernization compares favorably to KGV in some respects. Her guns were more numerous and also more powerful. Slower, so no engagement if the Brits don't want to fight.

I suspect Tennessee would have prevailed over Fuso, even before her modernization - Tennessee was a more modern design, with better armor. After her modernization... I think she'd have handily scuppered any Jap battleship in a one-on-one, excepting Yamato/Musashi.
Shift Colors... underway.
