Domestic trouble

Okay, let,s see how domestic trouble in the Kriegsmarine would end. The Bismarck leaves Gotenhafen and team up with the Prinz off RĂ¼gen island to embark on their Atlantic raid. The night before they leave Gotenhafen, Lutjens have a chat with Tom Clancy and is tempted by Clancy's story of another guy called Marko Ramius. He decides to defect. Raeder get an early knowledge of Lutjens plans and inform Admiral Cilliax to take the Tirpitz and Hipper to intercept the renegades. Convince that fool Lutjens otherwise, he say. By force if nescessary! They leave Scheerhafen at once and by great luck intercept Lutjens ships somewhere in the North Sea a day later. Lutjens respond to Cilliax warnings in a very un-Lutjensish manner and order Jod Dora aboard his ships. The range between the units is at this time approximately 20 000 yards with Cilliax closing in from astern in the same scenario as the DS battle.

Bismarck and Prinz Eugen versus Tirpitz and Hipper. Lutjens versus Cilliax. Who will draw the shortest straw?

Bismarck and Tirpitz could go either way, it depends which ship lands the crucial hits first.
Call it a 6th sense if you wish or maybe just Fanboy opinion  but I think Hipper would wallop Prinz Eugen

Surely in a situation like this the British would come out to destroy Tirpitz?

Enigma decodes would give the game away.

Would Bismarks crew willingly fire on another German ship? Even in Red October Remius didn't seek battle to defect, his posture was defensive in the face of being attacked by Soviet forces. On a surface ship the crew would have a clearer picture of what was happening, the opposition would not be invisible.

Hipper versus PE? My money would be on PE as she evidently had better gunnery results than Hipper.
