Let's make a thread with photos of sinking ships only. I think it can be fun. Simply attach a photo and a short description. I will start with a few pictures to get things going. Then it is up to you guys.
The sinking of the British troop transport Orama on 8 June 1940 in the North Sea
Aircraft Carrier Hermes sinking on the morning of 9 April 1942 in the Indian Ocean.
The sinking of destroyer Mashona in the Atlantic on 28 May 1941 after attack by German bombers.

Can't figure how to put it on the post. Here is the link of a mk48 USN torpedo, sinking the destroyer HMAS Torrens. (The torpedo is designed to detonate under the hull, which it obviously did
)

This is the British destroyer HMS Antelope in the Falklands war, she split in two and sank the next day.
PS: I figured out how to work the picture thing

OK, this is why the Arleigh Burke destroyers now have steel superstructures
This is the USS Belknap after coliding with the supercarrier USS John F Kennedy. Fires caused the aluminum superstructure to flame and melt to the steel hull.

Here is another, although she was technically scuttled, not sunk.
The USS Oriskany was scuttled off of Florida in May 2006.

I have one that you guys would probably jump off a bridge to stand on her:
The Yamato as her boilers and ammo magazines blow herself to smithereens after the three waves of USN aircraft
