Was Bismarck's wood planking painted grey at the bow?

Hi,
I recently watched some magnificent footage upploaded onto Youtube and think I spotted what looks like paint on the wood planking at the bow. The planks between the metal ~(?) strip leading to the bow hause and the bollard seen here. Could it be?
