Poland wants the shield; NATO sent ships to aid the defeated (pretty much humilliated as a matter of fact) lousy Georgian Army, even if everybody knew already that NATO will not dare to fight Russia (they didn´t dare to fight Milosevic until Uncle Sam fired first); and Russia is likely to cut the oil and natural gas supplies to Europe and, in case, they are violent enough to fight back (with strategic advantage because they are on their own soil) any NATO advance into Mother Russia.
Russia sent two strategic bombers to Venezuela; Evo Morales expells the US ambassador and it seems Obama could lose the November polls (God, we pray for that!) and McCain could still win.
Things are escalating. Things are getting warm.

Re: Escalation of NATO vs. Russia
Not quite sure what this leading up to but there seems to be a growing obssession with Venezuela here. If things get very hot the US will prevail. In any case Georgia (that is the Russian one and not the Empire State of the South) is hardly worth the bones of a single NATO soldier......
