Rare archival footage of the attack on Pearl Harbor has emerged, showing incredible shots of the sneak attack by Imperial Japan. The footage is low resolution, due to the fact that the original has been lost and this is a copy. Shown in the video are the USS Nevada firing at Japanese craft, the USS Oglala rolling over sinking and the USS St. Louis.

The footage was found in the Naval History and Heritage Command, Photographic Section, UM-10.

Strange it shouldtake so long to emerge. Is there any reason for this? Who shot the film?

It was shot by a junior sailor apparently. Full history unknown at this time. I have a request in to the Navy Department Library for more info. Glenn will get back to me as time allows.
