Gettysburg first day aniversary is today. Lee tries to get the high ground of Cementary Ridge but Jubal Early and Ewel failed him. Longstreet advises for the first time to disengage and turn the Union left flank (Lee's right) in order to put the gray army between Meade and Washington. General Trimble asks "for another assigment". Hancock has taken charge of the Union position whilst Reynold is killed. The man of the day: John Buford.
