Erich Trautmann

Post by trapperP » Thu Dec 04, 2008 5:04 pm

I have learned that a sailor was lost from the "Bismarck" named Trautmann:
Trautmann, Erich Gfr Born:00.00.1921 Died: 27.05.1941 """BISMARCK""+"
My mother was a Trautmann [ne 'Troutman'] and I believe this may have been a relative. Can anyone supply any more info re this man?
Many thanks, and
Best regards,

Information taken from the crew list compiled by John Asmussen indicates that Erich Trautmann was born on 25th November 1921. Rank as of 27th May 1941 was Maschinengefreiter, at age of 19 years.
Best approach from this is to contact John Asmussen, who is a member of this website. However he has never responded or replied to any of my messages, so it might be worth asking Jose Rico if he can help in establishing contact.
