Scapa Flow´s wrecks of the High Sea Fleet

Post by Karl Heidenreich »

I search some sport diving websites and come with the information of the aproximate location of some of the BBs and BCs of the High Seas Fleet scuttled at Scapa Flow. The wrecks are around the island of Cava, just South of the Mainland and North of Fara Island, just between them.
Then using Google Earth I found Orkney Islands, then Scapa Flow and began "zooming" around the area: then I found something, somekind of a spot that seems to be submerged just Northeast of Cava in the same location the diving sites point to a German BB.
Here are the coordinates:

N 58 53 40.54 W 3 09 45.05

Can someone confirm that it is the location of one of the High Seas Fleet BBs or BCs?

Hi Ulrich:

The coordinates given at "wannadive" gives a position close to the spot I found, a little to the nortwest. It´s also a location where the other diving site puts another German BB.

The quality of the photograph there is not so good so I think that´s it with Scapa Flow.

P.S. I found the Churchill Barrier!

Best regards!
