One of the most decorated sailors even at sea, ... surely the one that with the smallest vessel, ... a M.A.S., ... sunk not only one, ... but 2 battleships.

Impresa di Premuda
In order to honor a soldier, we have to tell the truth about what happened over there. The whole, hard, cold truth. And until we do that, we dishonor her and every soldier who died, who gave their life for their country. ( Courage Under Fire )

Re: Impresa di Premuda
I have just read again the very good book edited by the USMM (Ufficio Storico Marina Militare) about this very special officer: Fabio Andriola (author) "Luigi Rizzo" (title).
If Premuda and Trieste were his most celebrated victories, his life is full of episodes that outlines his bravery, nobility and altruism (e.g. what he did and suffered after the armistice during WWII and even after he was back in Italy ...). Unfortunately I think the book is not yet translated in English and is available only in Italian.....
Bye, Alberto
