Siegfried Breyer & Aldo Fraccaroli

Post by Ulrich Rudofsky »

Apparently, Siegfried Breyer and Aldo Fraccaroli died on 22 March 2010 according to Warship International. I have not been able to verifiy the information.

A German friend at Marinearchiv has confirmed that Siegfried Breyer has indeed passed away after a severe illness.

Both gentlemen were great scholars and naval historians and their loss is felt greatly by this individual. While Mr. Breyer's work at times lacked authenticity (Schlact. und Schlactk. 1905-1970 - the Sovietskyi Soyuz class drawing), nonetheless his work was of great value because he put so much data together.
Senor Fraccaroli was an excellent historian of the Italian Navy and published a number of excellent works on that subject. May they rest in peace. :(
