Lützow and Scheer specially.

Die Panzerschiffe der Deutschland-Klasse im Original und Modell
By Chesneau, Roger

Saw it in Buch24 for 15€, I'm considering buying it.

Nothing special

Post by Antonio Bonomi »

Ciao Joao and all,

I have it of course, nothing special.

A mix of well known things ( mainly taken from Morskie books ) and some model photos.

Same mistakes as all the books before because is a copy of other well known infos, no new photos.

Ship camouflages are wrong as before.

But you know, I like to have it anyway.

Ciao Antonio :D

It seems that I can't stop thanking you

I've received the photos and will now have to digest them carefully!!!

As for the book, I'll probably not buy it. Better spend my money on another book or those metal barrels from NNT Models.

I had the translated volumes of the series of Tirpitz and Scharnhorst published by Conway. A kind of poor-man AOTS. What is most striking is the little scale of the decks plans, you can´t see the details without a magnifier glass. And these plans are in German.

I have the one on Tirpitz. The plans are indeed very small, thou the photos are nice (but maybe to common, I don't know 'cause I don't have any more books on the Tirpitz).

As for the Lützow, maybe I'll buy 'Die Panzerschiffe der Deutschland-Klasse' one of these days. 30€ in second hand.

The plans in those volumes have been reduced in size (the original scale being 1:300). You can however make enlarged photocopies or scan them at 300 dpi. I did. :D

Wonderfull idea Jose!!! I will try.
I have too the Graf Spee volume of the Marine Arsenal series by Breyer, in English too, published by Schiffer. This one has no deck plans, just a couple of side views.
