Early 1700s packet ships

Postby donkenall » Fri Apr 29, 2016 8:56 pm

Is there anywhere I can find names of ships and captains of packet ships that sailed the route between London and Boston before 1734? My great X5-grandfather, Nathaniel Allen, was (according to written family history) captain of a packet ship between those two ports. He settled in Boston in 1734 and opened a dry goods store, which is son, Jolley Allen, eventually took over.
