In both movies there are shots of Dreadnoughts Battleships firing to the Suribachi positions.
There are someones that I recognized as Iowa Class, at least three of them and some old ones too. Do someone knew which ones were present?
And another thing, maybe is just some of the "hollywoodian" show business but there is a scene in which a Japanese cannon from Suribachi fires and hits an Iowa Class amidships and the whole thing blows sky-high. Did something like that really happened? Because being the Battleships, well, armoured, I doubt that an Army Field Gun could harm them as heavily as the movie portrays.
Best regards.
