I was refering to surface ships, of course. I have always maintaned that is not the CVN but the SSN and SSBN those that are masters of the seas: the Ohios, Seawolfs, Oscars, Typhoons and Akulas... maybe the cheap Virginias.
However if you look at the AWS weapondry this vessel have and the how the hull is cramped with sonar devices, then a submarine could think it twice to attack it, because this ship do not have one or two CIWS Phalanx as an Arleight Burke or Nimitz class but at least eight: it operates under redundancies. I like the idea. Then it could counter strike.
