The community of collectors of 1:1250 (Europe 8 cm = 100 m) or 1:1200 (UK and USA, 1 inch = 100 ft) ship models invites you to take a close look at these great merchant and naval vessels of all kinds. These are also the scales of WWII identification models and they are used by wargamers. This scale was chosen because it represents the view of a ship at a range of approximately 2000 meters. There are literally over 20,000 commercial models in this scale. I, for example, have only a modest 2000, and now build some of my own. Take a look at this mini-scale before you fill your house with larger scale models.
