USS Lexington CV 2 deck colour

Post by Karl Heidenreich »

Hi.

After finishing my 1:350 Minicraft Titanic I´m about to begin the Trumpeter 1:350 CV-2 Lexington.
And there I find a problem: the color of the deck.
The kit indicated "deck-blue" but the WWII Warship Guide despicts the deck as "wood-brown". In another portrait is grey.
By the time of the battle of Coral Sea which was the color of that deck?

Best regards.

The flight deck would have been Norfolk Flight Deck Stain 20/250N I believe, I'm pretty sure, but I may be wrong.

Essentially it is a wood stain that is about identical in color to the Deck Blue 20/B paint.

Norfolk 250-N

Actually, 250-N was much more blue than 20-B Deck Blue. We have 250-N accurately matched and available in our Colourcoats enamels, as item US 27. No minimum order on paints, and we ship worldwide.
